Trepanier Acclaimed Chair of Canadian Sheep Federation

November 29, 2004 Guelph, ON Guelph,
Ontario Andre Trepanier, a sheep producer from Ste.Sabine Quebec
was acclaimed Chair of the Canadian Sheep Federation (CSF) at their Annual
General Meeting in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan last week.
Trepanier has been a member of the CSFs Board for the past five
years and has been the Vice Chair for two. He has also been the Vice President
of the Federation des producteurs dagneaux et moutons due Quebec
for the past four years. Quebec is Canadas second largest sheep
producing province and is home to 28 per cent of the countrys ewe
flock.
"Being elected Chair is an honour," says Trepanier adding that
"Canadian sheep producers are still reeling from the effects of the
border closure, and aiding in their recovery will remain a top priority
with the CSF this coming year."
John Hemsted of Oro Station Ontario was elected Vice Chair of the CSF.
Hemsted was recently elected as Chair of the Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency
for his fifth consecutive term. He and his Josephine, along with their
daughter Danielle operate a 200-head commercial sheep operation.
Randy Eros who had been chair of the CSF for the past two years has stepped
down but will remain a member of the Executive Committee. Rounding out
the Executive Committee is Randy Jordan from Raymore Saskatchewan and
Laurence Read from Silver Valley Alberta.
The Canadian Sheep Federation is a national, non-profit organization that
represents all Canadian sheep producers. Its mission is further the viability,
expansion and prosperity of the Canadian sheep and wool industry.
