Purchasing Tags
To order tags, please see below for authorized distributors in your province.
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland
and Nova Scotia - Tags may only be purchased through the Canadian
Cooperative Wool Growers Limited. Check – off fees may apply
in these provinces.
Ontario, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick - Tags
can be purchased from the Canadian Cooperative
Wool Growers’ Limited, other farm supply stores or directly
from Ketchum Manufacturing Incorporated.
Quebec - The province of Quebec is implementing a separate
identification system that exceeds the requirements of the Canadian Sheep
Identification Program. Producers living in Quebec, however, are required
to tag all sheep and lambs that are shipped into other provinces using
approved Canadian Sheep Identification Program tags.
Producers in Quebec must purchase their tags through
Agri-Traçabilité Québec
(ATQ).

Additional Information
The Canadian Sheep Federation is working with Allflex
Canada to provide an electronic alternative for producers. Details
on the availability of these tags will be posted at a later date.
Additional tags will be considered after the first year of the Program.
All recommended tags have been tested under trial conditions and have
met the Program’s criteria for retention, readability and ability
to withstand tampering.
Each tag will bear a unique identification number between 310,000,000
to 319,999,999.
